Container Garden...

It is really important to me that Morgan finds a love for gardening and plants. So, the past couple weeks I took him out to a couple nurseries and together we picked out some vegetables and herbs to create a container garden on our back deck. I decided not to start a garden in the ground this year until I can get my soil amended properly. A container garden seems like the perfect start for a toddler anyway. We also started some seeds (zucchini, pumpkin, and green beans) in old egg cartons indoors too. Yesterday we started to plant all the starts we bought. Morgan was reallllly excited about it. He loved digging in the dirt and before I even showed him what to do he was filling up the containers with soil. He was definitely in charge of the whole operation in his head. He would move the plants around and undo things I did as if I had done it wrong. =) I definitely think I have a future gardener. I would say his favorite part about the plants since we bought them is watering them. Everday we go out together and water the plants. I even got him his own little watering can. Steve took him out the other day and he threw the biggest tantrum when he had to come in. He goes to the back door all the time now wanting out to see the plants.

Here are a few photos from our gardening adventures yesterday...

*Well, I got one to load, I will try again later and see if Blogger is working.

FYI Lily has started getting herself up on all fours and slowly crawls forward now! She also pulls herself up to a standing position. =)
