Morgan's 2nd Birthday and Party photos
On Morgan's actual Birthday Steve and I had plans to go to the Everett Children's museum with Shawn and Cole. Well, upon arriving we found out they are closed Mondays for cleaning. I was so dissapointed. Instead we packed back up into the car and went to Mukilteo beach and played around on the playground and headed down the beach to check out the low tide.
The following weekend we had Morgan's party at Kayak Point and had expected around 35+ people to come. Luckily many didn't show up and it was a good sized group of adults and kids. We grilled some Salmon, tofudogs, veggie burgers, and black bean chipotle burgers. We also had vegan lemon vanilla cupcakes and chocolate ones too. Since it was so hot that day I decided to let everyone decorate their own rather than let the heat destroy 4 dozen iced cupcakes. It was more fun that way for the kids AND adults, I think. Morgan got so many great gifts from everyone. He is a lucky boy. The kids played on the beach, swam, and had a good time all around. It was a gorgeous day hitting the 90's and our perfect spot on the beach made it seem like it was only in the 80's with a nice breeze from the water.
Next year I think I am going to hire for trade one of my photographer friends to come document the party that way I won't worry about getting pictures and will be relaxed knowing I will walk away with an excellent set of pictures.
I will post below in respective groups pictures from my Mom's coolpix, my coolpix, and my fancy D300.

Thomas The Train...(at last)
I am really sick. I have some kind of nasty virus that hit me like a train(heheh). Which brings me to finally getting to editing and posting all the Thomas pictures from July. My computer has been acting wonky lately so I haven't been able to do much photography wise. Steve is working on fixing that problem.
Thomas the Train Day in Snoqualmie was awesome all around. It was such a gorgeous day; I believe it hit the mid '80s. We carpooled with Shawn and Erin and met Jamie and Tracie there. We got a little lost on the way out. =) Anyway, when we got there we parked in the overflow lot and took an actual school bus to the train station. It was quite an adventure. Once we arrived we boarded this old rickety train that was literally from the 1800's. I was actually a little nervous when we started going over the falls in that thing; I have to admit. Lily had the best time in the train. She was squealing and clapping with delight and Morgan was totally quiet and subdued. I think it was a bit much for him to take in right after he woke up from the long ride there. After the train ride we had lunch and went around and played at the different areas. It was a good time.
| We had just arrived and Morgan was acting a little overwhelmed since he had just woken up. Aww, the beloved binky. It's weird now seeing him with it. I almost forgot how it was such a big part of our lives for a long time. |

| My adorable nephew, Jaiden, acting silly before getting on the train. I love this photo even though there are techy problems with it I love the capture. |

Right before we stepped onto the train I made Steve pose with this cool looking dude. =) |

The whole crew of kids. Cole, Jaiden. Morgan, Lily, and Steve (the biggest kid of all ;). heheh Notice Jaiden is holding Morgan's hand. |

Cole looking out the window on the train ride. He has a very gentle way about himself. This is one of my favorite photos from that day. |
Morgan handed over our tickets to get punched and he was so pleased with himself afterwards it was hilarious considering his subdued attitude for the day.
Jamie and Tracie on the train.

Jaiden and Cole giving a pre-train ride hug!
Morgan being a Daddy's boy on the train ride.
The eye of the hurricane. Everything is going eerily well in the train tent. Morgan is busy having some serious train fun. =)
Awww, Hurricane Morgan! Isn't he adorable??!? Shawn had a great idea for the event planners. They should include a tantrum tent next to the train tent for the toddlers to go to. He laid in that grass screaming, rolling around, kicking and hitting for about 5-10 minutes after being forced to leave the precious train tent.
My lovely sister-in-law Tracie, My brother Jamie, and my cutie pie nephew Jaiden. It was high noon so bad time for portraits hence the extreme shadows. Good looking family though!
Shawn and Cole. Erin was off sitting in the grass relaxing. =)
Morgand and Steve. Once Morgan got near Thomas he wouldn't stop looking at him so Steve spent the whole time up there trying to get him to look at the camera. =)
The whole gang!

Happy Birthday to our BIG 2 year old boy today!
It's official, Morgan is 2. I wouldn't describe it as terrible, but more challenging than before. He is too sweet even in mid tantrum to be described as terrible. I find this age to be absolutely adorable and am loving every day with him.
I will leave you with his set on Flickr to browse through until I do his 2 year old photoshoot next week. This weekend is his Birthday party and today we are hanging out with his BFF Cole, going to the Everett Children's Museum, and then having present time and cake and candles. =) This morning Steve surprised him with a giant dump truck balloon which he has been getting into all kinds of trouble with.

YouTube Babies...
Lily is so close to walking for good and never looking back. Also, please note the crazy Morgan arm flailing run at the end. Sooo cute!
Morgan loves the AC unit upstairs. He likes to pretend he is blow drying his hair like Mom does except he uses manly tools instead of girly brushes! hehehe
He likes to dress up in all sorts of weird weird stuff.
He is totally a baby Mozart. Look at him rock!

ramble ramble ramble
Today marks Morgan's 6th day with no pacifier. The first night was rough, but after that it has not been bad at all. We bought him a lovey (a little frog with a mini-blanket coming out of it) that is special for bedtime and at first he threw it on the ground, but each night I cuddle with it and treat it special so he has started to do the same. Our new bedtime routine is diaper, teethbrushing, pj's, reading, then sleep. On a sidenote, I swear if we let him he would brush his teeth 10 times a day! He is obsessed.
This week is going quite well. Today is Steve's work from home day so I get the luxury of sleeping in on Wednesday mornings. Today Morgan would not take his morning nap so we just let him run and play. At lunch he was doing pretty good and when he said all done I looked over and his head was bobbing back and forth and in a circle with his eyes closed. He said all done again with his eyes closed! It was so sweet. I took one for the team and went upstairs and cuddled him on the aerobed and took a nap with him. It is such a luxury and a blessing that I am able to stay home with them that these little moments like naptime with Mom are so precious to me. He wound his arms through the straps on my dress and held tight and went to sleep (and so did I).
Earlier in the day he ate a green crayon. It was a non-toxic washable crayon so it basically disintegrated into this green slime oozing out of Morgan's mouth. When Steve found him he screamed! Steve was yelling for help and I came in to find Steve's hands cupped under Morgan's mouth with a handful of green ooze. =) It was hysterical. We took him into the bathtub and sprayed him off and brushed his teeth until it was all gone. It was a very strange experience. I would never have guessed a crayon would do that.

Breakfast in diapers
I am still working on the Thomas and Lake pictures, but wanted to share these photos from breakfast this morning. Around here we eat in our diapers and well if you are Morgan you eat in a diaper AND a fireman hat!
Yes, that looks like alot of food, but it's primarily fruit salad with two scrambled eggs and a 1/4 of a croissant. =)
